Welcome to Studio Poes, my little happy corner!

“Poes” means “cat” in Dutch, and while I’m not Dutch myself (part of my family is), this word feels really special to me. I chose it in honor of my beloved cat Alma, whose gentle presence and sweet memories continue to inspire my art and remind me of the love we feel for our furry friends.

I’m a self-taught illustrator, and I’m currently learning UI/UX design so I can combine my illustration skills with digital design, creating interfaces that are both beautiful and functional.

I live in sunny Portugal with my family, my (Dutch) partner and our energetic little toddler! Most days I’m balancing a full-time job, learning new skills, and spending time on my studio and illustrations. Creating art is what makes me happy and gives me peaceful, creative moments in an otherwise busy life.

My illustrations come from everyday life, little moments, my love for nature and animals, and the experiences that make me feel connected to the world. Travel has always inspired me, and even though life is a bit more settled now as a new mom, those memories sometimes find their way into my work.
