Hey,

I'm Giorgia!

A woman in a red patterned dress and a wide-brimmed straw hat sitting on rocks near water, smiling with eyes closed.

Welcome to Studio Poes, my little happy corner!

I'm a self-taught illustrator living in sunny Portugal, most days I'm balancing a full-time job, being a mom, learning new skills, and spending time on my illustrations. Creating art is what makes me happy and gives me peaceful, creative moments in an otherwise busy life.

My illustrations come from everyday life, little moments, my love for nature and animals, and the experiences that make me feel connected to the world. Travel has always inspired me, and even though life is a bit more settled now as a mom, those memories sometimes find their way into my work.

Why Studio Poes? What the heck does it mean? You might be wondering… well, "Poes" (pronounced like "puss") means "cat" in Dutch, and this word holds a very special place in my heart. It was the nickname we used for our beloved cat Alma. We always joked that the house was really hers, and we were just humble guests, her servants there to please her. That silly, affectionate name, and the deep emptiness she left behind when she passed, is exactly what pushes me to carry it forward in her memory.

I'm so grateful you're here, reading this, and supporting this very tiny business built from passion and creativity. If you ever want to get in touch, for questions, commissions, or collaborations, or just love letters, I'd love to hear from you!
